Blue Barrel, Westside, 2015. There were lots of photographers in the water that day so I decided to move over to a different part of the beach. Suddenly, the waves started firing and I managed to capture this beauty as it pitched over me.
About the Photographer
Neal Miyake, 51, is originally from the Garden Island of Kauai. He has been an avid waverider and photographer all his life, blending these two passions through water photography. Neal has also been a photojournalist since 1987, and has had the privilege of shooting many surf contests from the water including eight Pipeline Masters. He is a devoted husband and father that "moonlights" as an electrical engineer.
